Another challenge came from a good friend and client who is a perfumer himself. He asked us if we could create a pure musk oil with real, old deer musk but make it non-animalistic, clean, aromatic, and affordable—without using any chemicals or alcohol! Challenge accepted.
We started with a base of light carrier oil, specifically extra virgin coconut oil freshly sourced from this season. We macerated it with saffron, rose, and vanilla and left it to mature for a full month. Then, we added tuberose, sandalwood, cedarwood, lilies, jasmine, neroli, ylang-ylang, and citrus.
After letting it sit for another month to evolve into something amazing, we had a complete Attar, but that wasn’t enough. We added one gram of pure, extra-dried raw Siberian musk grains for every 100 grams of oil, then let it sit for another month. Yes, we had a complete musk oil, but we aimed higher. So, we added three grams of pure musk for every 100 grams of oil and left it to mature for yet another month. Finally, after four months of maturing and layering, we achieved an incredible, authentic, and extremely attractive aromatic musk oil.
Not only was it made with pure, extra-dry-aged musk, but it also included some of the most sought-after and beautiful ingredients to complement and enhance the musk, making it modern, clean, and suitable for any occasion. With one of the highest possible concentrations of pure musk (4%), this aphrodisiacal, pheromonal bomb is not only potent but also delicious. Opening notes: Clean, aromatic saffron with rose and vanilla, accompanied by a leathery aromatic accord.
Middle notes: Vivid, herbal muskiness paired with sandalwood and cedarwood, slightly woodsy and musky but well-balanced and inviting.
Closing notes: Clean musk with hints of civet, coffee, and chocolate, complemented by aromatic vanilla and an accord of honey and sweet ylang-ylang.
